Infant (6 weeks – 12 Months)
Cypress Montessori School focuses on fostering basic trust, unconditional love and acceptance in the child. Primary goals during this stage include promoting good health and well- being, development of fine motor skills, development of gross motor skill and independence. Our loving teachers make sure to:
- Provide infants with calming and stimulating experiences
- Talk, sing, play and read to infants
- Respond to infants if hungry by feeding, holding, and cuddling them
- Give infants frequent “tummy time”
- Play active games such as “patty cake,” “Peek-a-boo,” and fingerplays
